Mackenzie Donegan is a visual artist who has been creating distinct and original artwork for over a decade. Her immense skill and knowledge shone through at an early age leading to multiple diplomas in Fine Art and Design and a degree in Fine Art from Nova Scotia College of Art and Design University. She was raised in Cobourg, Ontario where she spent most of her time painting, drawing, sculpting and experimenting with many forms of creative expression. Her fascinations with paint lead her to a painting investigation which she self-titled “acrylic forensics.” It is artwork based on abstraction that stimulates a thought process, through an application process. Mackenzie currently resides in Ottawa, Ontario. She continues to engage in refining her acrylic forensic work, transforming her creations into modern and simplistic formats. The wonder and mystery of these objects is not just part of the final image for Mackenzie, but part of the making process. Her ultimate outcome is to continue creating imagery that overwhelms the viewer as well as to control paint to its fullest potentials exploring the physical and visual
properties of it.
